On 16th of January Ashcan students got the opportunity to visit the School of Visual Arts – at the main campus on East 23th street. At the beginning we were welcomed by the Director of Admissions. Then, two SVA students showed us the different departments like Cartooning and Illustration. They told us about their experiences and that they especially appreciate the practical teaching style of the professors. We got to see the university store, the library and classrooms. Two students from Ashcan were taken by shuttle bus to see the Interior Design and Fine Arts departments.
At noon we were all invited for lunch at the SVA cafeteria. Afterwards each student had an individual portfolio review with an SVA admissions counselors. Students recieved great reviews and took home some material about SVA, before heading back to Ashcan in the afternoon. It was another great experience for our students to talk to SVA admissions counselors, professors and current students and to find out more about the SVA and the application requirements.
