Your portfolio of artwork is evidence of your artistic skills and concepts. A good portfolio is an indication to schools that you are a creative and talented student who will work hard and be successful. An outstanding portfolio can help you gain acceptance into the top art schools and increase your chances of winning scholarships.
When you are preparing a portfolio, choose to work with a variety of techniques and subjects. This includes oil, watercolor or acrylic paint, pencil, color pencil, pastel and charcoal drawings, 3-D work and mixed media work. Your portfolio should represent you as an individual and an artist.
