Some reasons why this still life would be seen as successful by Art School Admissions- ⁠ 1. Its size- you can see by the students hand on the lower left- that this mixed media work is fairly large⁠ 2. Mixed media- this student used a lot of different mediums on the canvas to make this still life.⁠ 3. It's unusual – still lifes can be monotonous and boring- even if they're perfectly rendered- this student used uncommon perspective, object placement, and object choices to create this still life. ⁠ 4. It's slightly mysterious. @ashcanstudio student Still Life for her Art School Art Portfolio⁠ .⁠ .⁠ .⁠ .⁠ .⁠ there are some reasons why this still life would be seen as successful by Art School Admissions- ⁠ 1. The colors red and green are opposite colors on the color wheel, the artist used predominantly these two colors which means that we are automatically naturally drawn to the colors contrast. ⁠ 2. It's painterly- when painting this still life, the student gave attention to every inch of the paper, so if you look at anyplace and its painted beautifully⁠ 3. It's slightly mysterious. As viewers, we can't help but wonder why the student chose these objects, and wonder what is going on here ⁠ 4.
