The Best BFA PROGRAMS in Fine Arts in the United States

If you’re interested in attending a BFA Fine Art Program it may be difficult to figure out which school is best for you. There are many great programs, and they each have different specialties, different facilities, and different curricula.  

First, you should look for BFA programs, rather than BA programs. In a BFA or Bachelor of Fine Arts program, the majority of your undergraduate education will consist of studio classes, where you’ll be developing your creative skill set and analytical skills.   

Once you choose a BFA Fine Arts program, you’ll have to choose an arts specialty, where you’ll learn to excel within a particular area. Examples are Painting, Drawing, Ceramics, Printmaking or Sculpture.

And their location in the Chelsea Neighborhood of NYC,you’d be in the heart of the art world. Resources include- digital sculpture, wood and metal shops, a Bio Art lab, printmaking lab, ceramics, video, photo, sound and fibers facilities. 

Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) Providence, RI, RISD is one of the most highly celebrated fine art and design schools in the country. It offers state-of-the-art facilities and tools and overall, the school offers a stimulating atmosphere conducive to exploration and growth. You can focus on Ceramics, Glass, Jewelry + Metalsmithing, Painting, Photography, Printmaking, Sculpture and Interdisciplinary concentrations. 

California College of the Arts  (CCA) offers San Francisco, CAPainting and Drawing, Ceramics, Glass, Photography, Printmedia & Sculpture BFA majors, as well as other design related majors, as well as an Individualized Program where you can mix your class as you’d like to. 

PARSONS New York, NY, at the highly regarded Parsons School of Design the BFA Fine Arts program guides you to discover your artistic voice, familiarizing you with traditional techniques of painting, drawing, sculpture, and video, as well as interdisciplinary methods that can include performance, multimedia installation, and digital interaction. 

School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) is one of the largest art schools in the US, so the school offers some more unique specializations, including Art Therapy, Performance and Fiber and Materials, and others. SAIC is also affiliated with one of the best art museums in the country.

Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) is also a very large school, and offers an impressive variety of fine arts specializations for undergraduates. Students can earn a degree in almost anything you can think of, from production design to fibers and furniture design.

Columbia University New York, NY, Columbia’s School of the Arts offers a prestigious fine arts program has a long list of notable alumni and faculty members, making it easier for students to make and develop both professional and personal connections in the field. Cornell University Ithaca, NY Cornell University offers a BFA program through its College of Architecture, Art, and Planning.
